Cáritas Venezuela highlights achievements in the Assembly of Bishops with its 2023 Management Report
Cáritas Venezuela presented its Management Report for the year 2023 during the CXXI Ordinary Plenary Assembly of Bishops of Venezuela. Monsignor José Luis Azuaje Ayala, Archbishop of Maracaibo and President of Cáritas, highlighted the commitment and continuous effort of the organization in the last 7 years, underlining that thousands of Venezuelans have joined the Church to serve through Cáritas.
The report highlights that in 2023, Cáritas Venezuela supported approximately 6 million people through humanitarian actions in crucial sectors such as health, water, nutrition, human mobility, emergencies due to natural disasters and defense of human rights.
In particular, the volunteering of Cáritas stood out, which dedicated an average of 16 million hours annually, with around 30,000 people offering their volunteer service to bring help and hope to those who need it most in the country.
The financial presentation revealed that Cáritas has reached greater administrative maturity, successfully passing 6 audits, including 4 international ones. The organization was certified as an entity of excellence that meets high standards in areas such as corporate governance, financial management, programs and projects, human talent, protection and transparency.
In 2024, Cáritas continues working in the defense of human rights and in the construction of a more just and supportive society.
