A great servant of Charity
At around 8 pm in Brazil yesterday, March 3, José Magallanes, better known as Maga, left for the house of the Lord. With great charisma and calm outlook, Maga left an indelible mark in each of the spaces in which he worked at the service of the most impoverished. He was National Director of Caritas Brazil, regional representative of MAGRE of SELACC, coordinator of the southern cone zone, member of the general secretary of Caritas International of Caritas but, above all, a beloved father, husband, friend and faithful believer that justice and charity are pillars for the construction of the Kingdom.
For the Cáritas family in Latin America and the Caribbean, Maga is and will be a testimony of prophetic intuition, joy, unconditional friendship, mysticism and closeness to Heaven with music. Without a doubt, an entire language is scarce to remember an entire shared history, in the great journey through the Kingdom of God.
“Your departure leaves a huge hole in our hearts. Now you will play your music with the angels of God. Your example, your delicate strength, your loving presence will always remain with us” writes Cáritas Brasil.
From Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean we join in prayer for all of you, your family, friends, colleagues, brothers and sisters of Maga, in this journey of the Church in this region of Latin America and the Caribbean, who like him we want to make present the preferential option for the poor day by day.
Rest in Peace |
