On July 23, the first workshop of a series of two was held, within the framework of the project to strengthen the Livelihoods and Food Security (MVSA) team of Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean, in collaboration with the Red Comparte. This project aims to form a regional team equipped with knowledge, tools and good practices to improve interventions in the territory.

The purpose of these workshops is to train the team in methodologies, tools and work approaches for the management of economic alternatives, promoting reflections on the role of alternative economies in territorial transformations. The workshops are aimed at national leaders and MVSA teams in each country.

In this first workshop, 40 people participated, including leaders and their national teams. The topics were developed by Agricultural Engineer Álvaro Idarraga, who from the executive secretariat of the Network addressed crucial topics such as the construction of economic alternatives with a territorial focus, strategic readings of the territory, the features of the economic alternatives of the Comparte Network, and the focus on capabilities and local human development. Álvaro Idarraga highlighted during his presentation: "The richness of the network is having multiple presences in the territory, being a community of learning and action to improve the practice and living conditions of the people we accompany."

Currently, there are a total of 44 registered for this series of workshops. The next workshop is scheduled for August 6, and is expected to continue strengthening the capacities of Cáritas' MVSA team, promoting a comprehensive and sustainable approach in its territorial interventions.
