Strengthening networks and capacities: 2024 of the Regional Livelihoods and Food Security Team
The Livelihoods and Food Security (MVSA) team of Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean has concluded the year 2024 consolidating important advances in strengthening its capacities to improve territorial interventions.
During the year, the MVSA team of Cáritas LAC has worked together to strengthen its capacities and improve interventions in the territory, reinforcing the shared identity of the team, focused on a solidarity economy and Human Development Comprehensive, highlighting the importance of unity to generate a sustainable and lasting impact. In addition, solid links were strengthened between the members of the regional team, creating a learning network for the continuous exchange of experiences and methodologies that allow strengthening capacities.
As part of this process, the team's first experiences have been developed as a “Learning Community”, where the national MVSA teams from Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil and the Dominican Republic have shared their experiences and methodologies on the topic of Solidarity Markets with the representatives of Cáritas Mexicana, who are in the first stages of implementing this initiative in their country. This exchange has strengthened ties between the teams and has promoted the creation of a regional learning and collaboration network.
In addition, the MVSA regional team continues to rely on continuous exchange tools, such as the Virtual Materials Repository, which compiles resources and experiences carried out in different countries. This space is a key tool to continue strengthening the team's capabilities and to promote a more just, supportive and fraternal economy in the region.
Cáritas LAC reaffirms its commitment to continue working in unity, consolidating support networks and promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences to build a sustainable and humane future for all communities.
