To promote fraternity and support for the most vulnerable despite the obstacles, Caritas Cuba in the year 2023 faced serious problems due to the uncontrolled inflation experienced by the Caribbean country, which jeopardized its ability to help those most in need.

Despite the difficulties, volunteers remained committed, looking for ingenious ways to serve despite the limitations. Several programs remained active, such as helping the elderly in soup kitchens, programs for the elderly, people with different abilities and children, all focused on providing support, inclusion and teaching.

The intergenerational work that generated environments of harmony and respect was highlighted, as well as the support provided in situations of natural disasters in different communities, where Cáritas Cuba and allied organizations offered material and spiritual help.

Despite the environmental and economic challenges in Cuba, the immense solidarity of its people, their capacity, is highlighted. openness and mutual support. For the year 2024, Cáritas Cuba invites us to continue working for communion, mercy and hope, transforming situations of poverty and exclusion, strengthening alliances and promoting a more sensitive and supportive coexistence to achieve the peace that the world needs.
