To deepen the knowledge of the first session of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, which took place in October 2023, during the month of March 2024, the free online course Towards a constitutively synodal Church takes place. The course is taught by Boston College and several organizations, including Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean. Classes are completely online asynchronous. The conferences are pre-recorded and available, at any time during the month of March, in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Italian, Polish and German.

The course is organized into three modules, with main lectures, in-depth sessions and experiences. The first module will deal with "Decision-making models". The second is titled "Subjects, charismas and ministries". And the last module will reflect on "Structures for a Synodal Church".

This initiative has been organized by Latin American members of the theological commission of the General Secretariat of the Synod and the Ibero-American Theology Group with the co-sponsorship of the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM) and the Latin American Confederation of Religious Men and Women (CLAR). This initiative has created a global network of collaboration to promote synodality with the support of the Consilium Conferentiarum Episcoporum Europae (CCEE), the Federation of Asian Episcopal Conferences (FABC), the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), the Union of Superiors General (USG), together with other homologous ecclesial organizations and Catholic Universities. The program uses a digital platform created by the "Continuing Formation" Department of the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry.
