Cáritas Uruguaya celebrates its II National Plenary Session

On July 29, the II National Plenary of Social Pastoral Cáritas Uruguay was held, a significant meeting that brought together delegates of social pastoral from all the dioceses and representatives of Confru, Cedidosc and the Laudato si Movement. On this occasion we had the visit of Nicolás Meyer, the new regional coordinator of Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean, who shared valuable perspectives on the approach to charitable pastoral work in the region.

One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of Victor Baccheta, a respected environmental journalist, who delved into the problem of the water crisis, raising awareness about the importance of addressing this issue from a comprehensive perspective.

In addition, The meeting allowed us to meet Leonardo Lima, a Uruguayan layman who will play a role as facilitator in the Synod.

The day was marked by a feeling of unity and collaboration, and allowed us to share reflections on how to continue moving forward together in the search for solutions and the strengthening of charitable social ministry.
