The diocesan Cáritas of Santiago in the Dominican Republic, in collaboration with medicine and psychology students from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCAMAyMA), held a Medical Day on Friday, March 8 in the Santiago Oeste municipal district. This initiative aimed to promote the comprehensive well-being of the residents of the district, offering physical, mental and emotional health evaluations. The activity took place at the Beato Bonó church in Ciudad Satélite, mainly benefiting the community of Cienfuegos.

During the day, oral, hearing, visual, general health and nutrition exams were carried out, as well as emotional health evaluations with support and guidance for patients. Medical and psychology students played a crucial role in organizing and executing the evaluations, applying their academic and professional knowledge to provide quality care to participants.

The commitment and dedication of these young volunteers highlighted the spirit of solidarity and community service that drives Caritas' humanitarian mission. This day not only provided important evaluations, but also promoted awareness about the importance of taking care of the comprehensive health of each individual in the community.
