CÁRITAS PROTEGE: newsletter highlights safeguarding actions in the Latin American and Caribbean region
Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean is pleased to announce the launch of its first regional newsletter, within the framework of Safeguarding actions. This publication marks an important milestone in the organization's commitment to creating safe environments and protecting children, adolescents and vulnerable adults throughout the region.
This first newsletter of "Cáritas Protects" is a testimony to the continuous effort of Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean and its 21 national Cáritas, with the support of Porticus, Memorare and Cáritas Internationalis, to build safe communities and promote respect, dignity and comprehensive protection of all people
The newsletter, developed by the Institutional Strengthening area and the Safeguarding Community, highlights the various initiatives and good practices implemented by national Caritas to strengthen safeguarding policies. The creation and strengthening of safeguarding and ethics committees, the integration of institutional commitments, and training and education programs for staff and volunteers are addressed. In addition, it highlights the importance of networking and collaboration with key organizations to promote concrete actions in favor of protection.
