In the first months of this year, representatives of Cáritas Norway met with Cáritas Honduras staff in the Diocese of Choluteca to strengthen joint cooperation and expand projects in the region.

During the visit, Cáritas representatives visited several communities in the departments of Choluteca and Valle to learn about economic development projects, jointly supervised the undertakings and the training and monitoring work carried out by Cáritas technicians. Choluteca.

Various development strategies were systematized and the entrepreneurs expressed how the arrival of Cáritas has changed their life perspectives, allowing them to provide what is necessary for their families and improve their quality of life and food security.

Among the beneficiaries of the Medios de Vida project, Norma Hernández stands out, a single mother who previously emigrated in search of employment, and now owns a pulpería (grocery store) thanks to the support of Cáritas.

“We have many dreams, but achieving them is the difficult part because where we live resources are scarce, but with the help of the program we are moving forward,” said Norma, highlighting the hopeful atmosphere that Cáritas has generated among the participants.
