In the framework of the 127th Plenary Assembly of the Bishops of Peru, we are pleased to express our warmest congratulations to Monsignor Guillermo Antonio Cornejo Monzón, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Lima, for his election as the new President of Cáritas del Perú. His leadership will be fundamental in the mission of serving the most needy in the country, and we trust in his commitment and dedication to continue strengthening the solidarity work of Cáritas.

Monsignor Guillermo Cornejo, born in Piura on November 1, 1964, has dedicated his life to the service of the Church, from his training at the Santo Toribio Seminary in Mogrovejo to his priestly ordination on December 8, 1994 in the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Lima. With a solid preparation in philosophy and theology, he has held various pastoral positions throughout his career, always demonstrating a deep vocation for the spiritual accompaniment and well-being of communities.

At the same time, we want to express our most sincere gratitude to Bishop Reinaldo Nann, Bishop Emeritus of Caravelí, for his dedication and commitment during his work as President of Cáritas del Perú. His leadership has been a pillar in the promotion of social justice and human dignity in the country, and his legacy will remain a source of inspiration for all of us.

We join in prayer and support Monsignor Guillermo Cornejo in his new responsibility, trusting that his management will be marked by the same passion and dedication that has characterized his priestly life.
