Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean launches a call for consultancy
The Latin American and Caribbean Secretariat of Cáritas (SELACC), an organization that accompanies and strengthens the Cáritas network in the region, has opened a call for the Design Consultancy of a Tool Box for the humanitarian emergency response protocol of Cáritas Latin America and the Caribbean. This initiative is part of the regional project executed by SELACC, which seeks to build resilience locally and coordinate emergency response.
Strengthen territorial resilience
Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the regions most prone to disasters, many of them enhanced by climate change. Against this backdrop, the regional team of MAGRE (Environment, Risk and Emergency Management) and Comprehensive Ecology of Cáritas is seeking to design a regional toolbox that incorporates methodology, tools and techniques for comprehensive community-based disaster risk management.
The objective of the consultancy is to design, develop and validate a digital and comprehensive toolbox of easy access and application, which contains standardized guides, formats and resources, allowing to the Caritas Social Pastorals of Latin America and the Caribbean, implement humanitarian response plans in a timely, effective and coordinated manner in the first 72 hours after an emergency or disaster occurs.
The work will be carried out over six months, from January to June 2026, and includes three main phases: the review of a previous Methodological Guide, the improvement of said guide incorporating case studies and regional practices, and the final delivery of the Box of Tools, which must contain the methodological guide, instruments (templates) and complementary material or teaching resources.
Profile and required experience
The selected professional must demonstrate experiences in the areas of consulting through certificates of experience.
- Professional in the social sciences or exact sciences, with knowledge in risk and emergency management
- Professional with knowledge in participatory methodologies and management of group work
- Professional with knowledge of protocols in humanitarian response to emergencies and disasters
- Professional with knowledge of humanitarian norms and standards.
- Professional with knowledge of the international and regional architecture for DRR and for a humanitarian approach to response to emergencies due to disasters or conflicts.
- Professional with knowledge of the work of Cáritas
