Dear brothers and sisters in Philippines:

On behalf of the 22 Caritas in Latin America and the Caribbean, we would like to send our message of hope and solidarity, in the aftermath of this major disaster caused by the typhoon Yolanda.

Caritas in our region wants to express its solidarity and pray for the people and families, who have lost their lives, are homeless, have lost their livelihoods and are living in a devastating situation.

As Caritas, we feel as one family affected for such this major disaster, and we are calling Caritas in Latin America and the Caribbean, to participate in the efforts of an emergency response and support of the rehabilitation and reconstruction activities for families, communities and Caritas in Philippines.

United in prayers,

Mons. Jose Luis Azuaje
